Bogies and wheelsets washing plants

Bogie Washing Plant

To wash train, tram and metro bogies as well as loose pieces put on service trolleys.

[to know more][hide details]

The bogie washing plant is used for the washing of locomotive, tram and metro bogies as well as for the cleaning of loose pieces put on service trolleys.
The best results are achieved with the drive-through two–access-door plant inserted in a production line which uses a high volume of water to soften the dirt on the bogie, and a washing pressure between 8 and 10 bar.
It consists of a washing cabin with washing and rinsing fixed spray poles, and of two tanks, one with the washing solution and one with the water to rinse.
According to the room available the tanks can be positioned either above ground or in a technical pit under floor level next to the cabin where the pumps, the filters and all the plant components are also positioned.
The introduction and the exit of the bogie is by automatic shifting system at variable speed.
During the washing cycle, the bogie swings between the travel limit, to let the nozzles spray water uniformly on the surface to be washed.
The washing solution and the rinsing water are recovered and reused as much as possible to reduce the environmental footprint.
To achieve a better result, a heated washing solution is used. If requested, the heating of the water to rinse can be supplied as an option.
The washing solution can be heated in different ways according the energy source available in the workshop: electricity, gas, petrol, steam power and overheated water.
To extend the washing solution’s life there is a filtering system to which an oil skimmer can be added.
A control and supervision PLC based system allows both an on site and a remote washing plant management. The connection can be modem, LAN, WI-FI or wire.
The user interacts with the system through an easy graphical interface; reports can be released and data can be downloaded on USB memory stick or sent by email in Excel format.
If the space is limited, a one- door washing plant can be installed with manual shifting of the bogie.
In this case the washing plant is equipped only with one movable spray pole which is used both for the washing and for the rinsing so as to guarantee a relative movement between the water sprayed and the component to be washed.
Where instead a mechanical action is preferred, it is possible to manufacture a plant with high pressure rotating heads (140 bar).

Wheel Set Washing Plants

For the closed loop cleaning of train and tram rolling stock wheel sets.

[to know more][hide details]

The wheel set washing plant has been designed for the cleaning of train and tram rolling stock wheel sets.
It consists of a cabin with one fixed spray pole for the washing and one for the rinsing and of two tanks, one with the washing solution and with the water to rinse.
According to the room available the tanks can be positioned either above ground or in a technical pit under floor level next to the cabin where the pumps, the filters and all the plant components are also positioned.
After been introduced into the washing cabin, the wheel set starts rotating under the spray pole so that the sprayed water can reach all the surface to wash.
At the end of the cycle, the wheel set is ejected from the cabin automatically.
The washing solution and the rinsing water are recovered and reused as much as possible to reduce environmental footprint.
The plant varies according to the loading and rotating wheel set system which is chosen.
In the basic version the wheel set is introduced manually and rotates at platform level.
To increase the plant efficiency it is possible to supply the plant with an automatic loading system. Up to three wheel sets at a time can be positioned on a conveyor avoiding in this way the operator’s constant presence.
To improve the washing result if the wheel sets are of a different diameter, it is possible to supply the plant with a lifting device which allows the lifting of different size wheel sets to maintain the same distance from the nozzles.
To obtain a very good result a heated washing solution can be used. If requested the heating of the rinsing water can be supplied as an option.

Frame Washing Plants

For a closed loop washing of train and tram rolling stock frames.

[to know more][hide details]

The frame washing plant has been designed for the cleaning of train and tram rolling stock frames. It consists of a washing cabin with oscillating spray poles and of two tanks positioned under the cabin, one with the washing solution and one with rinsing water. Therefore the plant can be installed with no need of civil work.
The frames are loaded on a service trolley by a crane and automatically introduced into the washing cabin where the backward and forward movement of the service trolley allows the sprayed water to reach all the surface to be washed.
At the end of the washing , the service trolley moves to the loading and dripping area so that the frames are unloaded .
The washing solution and the rinsing water are recovered and reused as much as possible to reduce environmental footprint.
To achieve a very good result, a heated washing solution is used and to heat the water different energy sources can be used. The tendency is to use the energy source available in the workshop: electricity, methane gas, diesel fuel etc.
A control and supervision PLC based system allows both an on site and a remote washing plant management. The connection can be modem, LAN, WI-FI or wire.
The user interacts with the system through an easy graphical interface; reports can be released and data can be downloaded on USB memory stick or sent by email in Excel format.

Filtering system and heater for the rinse tank

To recover and reuse the water circulating in the plant several times and to reduce environmental footprint.

[to know more][hide details]

To recover and reuse the water circulating in the plant several times and to reduce environmental footprint, it is possible to supply the plant with a filtering system of the rinsing water.
If requested, it is possible to equip the rinse tank with a heater of the same technical features as the one used for the washing tank but with lower power.

Remote Control System

The washing plant management software developed by Raimondi S.r.L. allows a constant and real time monitoring of the washing plants.

[to know more][hide details]

The washing plant management software developed by Raimondi S.r.L. allows a constant and real time monitoring of the washing plants through a remote control system.
This makes troubleshooting easier and also allows quick diagnosis and a remote solution of the problem in case of possible failure.
Moreover alarm log storage allows the analysis of the failures monitored and facilitates maintenance intervention.
If LAN or ADSL connection is used, the supervision and control system can modify the washing plant management software by remote and that means effective and successful maintenance.
For the good functioning of the plant it is also possible to download or send by email reports about the washings, about water, detergent and energy consumption as well as about the alarms.
To allow the plant remote control, the server installed in the technical room has to be connected to a computer network.
Remote connection can be realized in four different ways according to the client’s needs and the place where the plant is installed.
They are:

  • Modem connection
  • WIFI connection
  • LAN connection
  • Wire connection
  • Modem connection

Such connection is obtained by means of a dedicated or switched phone line and allows the plant full remote control including PLC access possibility by Raimondi’s technicians.

WIFI connection

With this kind of connection all the plant parameters can be remotely monitored.
By using a laptop or a desktop with WIFI facilities and a standard Internet browser, the user can monitor the plant status and its functionality on a remote screen.

LAN connection

With this kind of connection the PLC is located inside a VPN network and can be reached by users logged in as to allow many remote monitoring applications.

Wire connection

With this kind of connection the plant can be remote controlled through a remote console linked to the control and command panel.
The user logged in can manage the plant parameters as he was working on the panel placed in the technical room. It is also possible to check each position of the washing plant according to the
safety parameters of the plant itself.

Maximization of the solution chosen.
The supervision system realized by Raimondi S.r.l. can be installed on all kind of plant after a detailed analysis of the needs of the person that manages the plant operations.

Oil Skimmer

An oil skimmer allows to separate the oil and the grease dissolved in emulsion in the washing solution.

[to know more][hide details]

An oil skimmer allows to separate the oil and the grease dissolved in emulsion in the washing solution on the basis of their different specific weights.
It is made in stainless steel and it consists of a floater installed in the washing tank which maintains the suction at the same level as the washing solution.
A pneumatic pump suctions the oil superficial layer and directs it into the oil skimmer where it is processed.
The degreased water is recovered into the tank while the oil is collected into a barrel provided by the maintenance workers.
To obtain the best process the liquid to be processed needs to be at a low temperature.

Filters
