Rolling Bearing Washing Machines

For the washing of radial rolling bearings.

The rolling bearing washing machine allows the washing of radial rolling bearings with or without internal track.
It consists of an input conveyor where the bearings are loaded. Then they are conveyed automatically into the washing and drying cabin which has a washing and a drying spray pole in its inside.
At the end of the washing cycle the bearings are ejected on the output conveyor, and conveyed to the manual inspection bench.
Then a dewatering manual platform dips the bearings into a dewatering oil bath to eliminate the water left and to guarantee a protective oil coating of the bearings now ready for storage.
The machine is positioned at floor level so no civil work is required for its installation.
The washing is a closed-cycle one with hot water at high pressure (36 bar): there is no need of detergents to obtain a very good result.
To heat the water different energy sources can be used. The tendency is to use the energy source available in the workshop.

Rotating Basket Washing Machines

For the clearing of loose pieces such as rolling bearings, springs and axle boxes.

The rotating basket washing machine has been designed to wash parts coming from train, tram and metro maintenance cycle and it is completely made of stainless steel to avoid chemical corrosion and to increase its operating life.
The pieces are loaded into a basket manually and then inserted into the washing cabin where the basket starts rotating under a fixed spray pole.
The washing cabin is positioned on two washing and rinsing tanks to ease the closed cycle recovery of the water.
Both the washing solution and the water to rinse are heated by electric heaters.
The machine is installed at floor level so no civil work is required for its installation.

Process Tanks

The process tanks are machines used to wash metal pieces with irregular surface.
The pieces to be washed are introduced into the washing tank and are processed thanks to the double action of the washing solutions and of the movement of the water generated by the machine.
The machine can be used for chemical treatment and to degrease, pickle or decarbonate the pieces.
The water movement can be produced by the rotation of propellers positioned on the internal sides of the tank –turbolator system-, by the movement of the water made by external pumps –flow system-, by the cavitation action produced by the pressure of nozzles –hydrocav system-, or by the handling of the pieces in the tank.
The tank size can vary according to the pieces to be washed and to the room available for its installation.
The process tank can be heated with an electrical or gas system and an aspiration and depuration system can be added.
The machine can also be equipped with a mobile platform to introduce the pieces, with a control and management PLC based system and with a filtering system to guarantee lower water consumption and minimize the environmental footprint.

Belt Conveyor Washing Machines

The conveyor belt washing machine is the best solution for the washing of loose parts from train, tram and metro maintenance cycle in the workshops where an automated processing line is installed.
The machine is completely made of stainless steel to avoid chemical corrosion and to increase its operating life. It consists of two booths –one for the washing and one for the rinsing- where fixed spray poles are installed.
The pieces to be washed are loaded on a belt conveyor which drives them through the booths at an adjustable speed according to the dirt on the pieces to be washed.
If specific treatment is requested (the application of an anti-rust, for example) specific booths can be added on the belt conveyor path.
The conveyor and the booths are positioned on the tanks to ease the closed-cycle recovery of the water.
Electrical heaters are provided to heat the washing solution. As an option, also the rinsing solution can be heated.
The machine is installed at floor level so no civil work is required for its installation.

Rotating Platform Washing Machines

For the cleaning of motors and big size parts.

The rotating platform washing machine has been designed to wash electrical motors, diesel engines heads and big dimension pieces.
The platform, initially outside the machine, is automatically introduced into the cabin after being loaded.
The washing is affected by the combination of the rotating platform and of the water sprayed by rotating and movable spray nozzles.
The closed loop washing and rinsing is obtained using cold and hot water heated by an electric or gas system.
An aspiration and depuration system of the fumes generated during the washing cycle can be fit in the machine.
To reduce water consumption and environmental impact, it is possible to filter the washing solution by a filtering system and the washing tank can be top-up using water from the rinsing tank.
To guarantee a constant supervision of consumption parameters, a control and management PLC based system can be added.

Vacuum Dryer Machines

The vacuum dryer machine is used to dry electrical motors under vacuum uniformly and quickly.
Two are the phases:
1. The air, blown by a fan and heated by electric heaters, heats the electrical motor to be dried;
2. Vacuum is produced to favor the evaporation of the water on the engine.

Raimondi S.r.l. designs and manufactures, on demand, special machines to solve specific washing problems, related for example to narrow spaces available or irregular surfaces to place the machine, or limited productivity or pieces with peculiar shape and dimensions.

Oil Skimmer

An oil skimmer allows to separate the oil and the grease dissolved in emulsion in the washing solution.

An oil skimmer allows to separate the oil and the grease dissolved in emulsion in the washing solution on the basis of their different specific weights.

It is made in stainless steel and it consists of a floater installed in the washing tank which maintains the suction at the same level as the washing solution.

A pneumatic pump suctions the oil superficial layer and directs it into the oil skimmer where it is processed.

The degreased water is recovered into the tank while the oil is collected into a barrel provided by the maintenance workers.

To obtain the best process the liquid to be processed needs to be at a low temperature.

    Water Treatment Plants

    To improve the washing result it is possible to equip all plants with a softener water plant which reduces the amount of limescale and of the melted salts.

    Either a softener or a reverse osmosis water plant can be combined to Raimondi’s washing plants to avoid limestone scale on the train surface.
    A soft water can be used not only mixed with the detergent but also for the final rinse and when supplying the rotating heads with hot water to avoid head seizure, because the softener reduces the hardness of water through ion exchange with resins.
    A reverse osmosis water plant instead eliminates the salts melted in the water almost completely.
    A final rinse with RO water assures a perfect washing with no scale left on the surface.

    Washing Plant Supervision and Remote Control System

    The washing plant management software developed by Raimondi S.r.L. allows a constant and real time monitoring of the washing plants.

    The washing plant management software developed by Raimondi S.r.L. allows a constant and real time monitoring of the washing plants.
    This makes troubleshooting easier and also allows quick diagnosis and a remote solution of the problem in case of possible failure.
    Moreover alarm log storage allows the analysis of the failures monitored and facilitates maintenance intervention.
    If LAN or ADSL connection is used, the supervision and control system can modify the washing plant management software by remote and that means effective and successful maintenance.
    For the good functioning of the plant it is also possible to download or send by email reports about the washings, about water, detergent and energy consumption as well as about the alarms.
    To allow the plant remote control, the server installed in the technical room has to be connected to a computer network.
    Remote connection can be realized in four different ways according to the client’s needs and the place where the plant is installed.
    They are:

    • Modem connection
    • WI­FI connection
    • LAN connection
    • Wire connection
    • Modem connection

    Such connection is obtained by means of a dedicated or switched phone line and allows the plant full remote control including PLC access possibility by Raimondi’s technicians.

    WI­FI connection

    With this kind of connection all the plant parameters can be remotely monitored.
    By using a laptop or a desktop with WI­FI facilities and a standard Internet browser, the user can monitor the plant status and its functionality on a remote screen.

    LAN connection

    With this kind of connection the PLC is located inside a VPN network and can be reached by users logged in as to allow many remote monitoring applications.

    Wire connection

    With this kind of connection the plant can be remote controlled through a remote console linked to the control and command panel.
    The user logged in can manage the plant parameters as he was working on the panel placed in the technical room. It is also possible to check each position of the washing plant according to the
    safety parameters of the plant itself.

    Washing plants need high quantity of water.
    Raimondi s.r.l. has always designed its plants paying great attention to water consumption and they have created a wastewater recycling system so as to be able to reuse up to 80% of the water.
    If there is no depuration system where the plant is installed, a chemical-physical biological depuration plant is suggested, the size of which depends on the client’s need.
    In such a way high water saving is assured and the water flowing into the sewer is compliant with environmental regulations.
