Drive Through Washing Plants

To wash trains and metro passing at controlled speed through the plant.

[to know more][hide details]

The plant is used for washing trains passing through at controlled speed in one or two directions according to the layout of the depot where it is installed.
Different washing stations are positioned on the washing bay and they are controlled by sensors so that they are activated only if necessary avoiding in this way waste of water and energy.
Every single plant is designed and built so as to satisfy any customer’s request. However to guarantee very good results prewetting and detergent spray stands, vertical brush washing stands and softening water rinsing stands are suggested.
The plant can also be equipped with an osmotized water rinsing stand, with a detergent brush stand and/or with a front and rear washing stand.
An underframe washing plant can be added.
A control and supervision PLC based system allows both an on site and a remote washing plant management. The connection can be Modem, LAN, WI-FI or wire.
The user interacts with the system through an easy graphical interface and a report in Excel format can be released and downloaded on USB memory stick or sent by email.
The computerized control system, the tanks, the pumps and all the components necessary for the management of the plant are installed in a specific technical room, which can be built on site, or supplied in an equipped container.

Underframe washing plants

To wash the underframe of locomotives, coaches and metro while the train moves independently at controlled speed.

Stationary Underframe Washing Plants

To wash the underframe of locomotives, coaches and metro while the train moves independently at controlled speed.

[to know more][hide details]

The stationary underframe washing plant is installed in the washing platform and allows a high pressure washing of the underframe and of the wheels of the train which moves independently at controlled speed.
It consists of a stainless steel spray pole with fixed nozzles that sprays the detergent, of a high pressure stainless steel spray pole for the washing and of another optional stand for the sanitation of the underframe.
To get better washing results the fixed nozzles of the washing spray pole can be replaced by rotating heads.
The spray poles can be supplied with cold or hot water; however the hot water solution is preferable in consideration of the kind of dirt to be washed and it is also advisable to add a water softener in the heating system water supply pipeline.

Different solutions for the supply of the heating system can be adopted according to the fuel available in the workshop.

Such plant can be installed in all drive through washing plants.

Moving Trolley Underframe Washing Plants

To wash the under chassis of locomotives, coaches, tram and metro of stationary trains.

[to know more][hide details]

The moving trolley underframe washing plant is installed in the washing platform and allows a high pressure washing of the underframe and of the external wheel arrangement of a train which is stationary on the platform.
It consists of a stainless steel spray pole with fixed nozzles which spray the detergent and of rotating heads installed on a trolley moving under the train.
The rotating heads can be supplied with cold or hot water; however the hot water solution is preferable in consideration of the kind of dirt to be washed and it is also advisable to add a water softener in the heating system water supply pipeline.
The speed of the moving trolley can also vary so as to improve the effectiveness of the cleaning.
The trolley may be equipped with an additional spray pole for the washing of the pit at the end of the work cycle or of the shift.
A control and supervision PLC based system allows both an on site and a remote washing plant management. The connection can be Modem, LAN, WI-FI or wire.
The user interacts with the system through an easy graphical interface; reports can be released and data can be downloaded on USB memory stick or sent by email in Excel format.

Such plant can be installed in all moving portal and semiportal washing plants.

Options

Filtering system and heater for the rinse tank

To recover and reuse the water circulating in the plant several times and to reduce environmental footprint.

[to know more][hide details]

To recover and reuse the water circulating in the plant several times and to reduce environmental footprint, it is possible to supply the plant with a filtering system of the rinsing water.
If requested, it is possible to equip the rinse tank with a heater of the same technical features as the one used for the washing tank but with lower power.

Remote Control System

The washing plant management software developed by Raimondi S.r.L. allows a constant and real time monitoring of the washing plants.

[to know more][hide details]

The washing plant management software developed by Raimondi S.r.L. allows a constant and real time monitoring of the washing plants through a remote control system.
This makes troubleshooting easier and also allows quick diagnosis and a remote solution of the problem in case of possible failure.
Moreover alarm log storage allows the analysis of the failures monitored and facilitates maintenance intervention.
If LAN or ADSL connection is used, the supervision and control system can modify the washing plant management software by remote and that means effective and successful maintenance.
For the good functioning of the plant it is also possible to download or send by email reports about the washings, about water, detergent and energy consumption as well as about the alarms.
To allow the plant remote control, the server installed in the technical room has to be connected to a computer network.
Remote connection can be realized in four different ways according to the client’s needs and the place where the plant is installed.
They are:

  • Modem connection
  • WIFI connection
  • LAN connection
  • Wire connection
  • Modem connection

Such connection is obtained by means of a dedicated or switched phone line and allows the plant full remote control including PLC access possibility by Raimondi’s technicians.

WIFI connection

With this kind of connection all the plant parameters can be remotely monitored.
By using a laptop or a desktop with WIFI facilities and a standard Internet browser, the user can monitor the plant status and its functionality on a remote screen.

LAN connection

With this kind of connection the PLC is located inside a VPN network and can be reached by users logged in as to allow many remote monitoring applications.

Wire connection

With this kind of connection the plant can be remote controlled through a remote console linked to the control and command panel.
The user logged in can manage the plant parameters as he was working on the panel placed in the technical room. It is also possible to check each position of the washing plant according to the
safety parameters of the plant itself.

Maximization of the solution chosen.
The supervision system realized by Raimondi S.r.l. can be installed on all kind of plant after a detailed analysis of the needs of the person that manages the plant operations.

Oil Skimmer

An oil skimmer allows to separate the oil and the grease dissolved in emulsion in the washing solution.

[to know more][hide details]

An oil skimmer allows to separate the oil and the grease dissolved in emulsion in the washing solution on the basis of their different specific weights.
It is made in stainless steel and it consists of a floater installed in the washing tank which maintains the suction at the same level as the washing solution.
A pneumatic pump suctions the oil superficial layer and directs it into the oil skimmer where it is processed.
The degreased water is recovered into the tank while the oil is collected into a barrel provided by the maintenance workers.
To obtain the best process the liquid to be processed needs to be at a low temperature.

Water Treatment Plants

To improve the washing result it is possible to equip all plants with a softener water plant which reduces the amount of limescale and of the melted salts.

[to know more][hide details]

Either a softener or a reverse osmosis water plant can be combined to Raimondi’s washing plants to avoid limestone scale on the train surface.
A soft water can be used not only mixed with the detergent but also for the final rinse and when supplying the rotating heads with hot water to avoid head seizure, because the softener reduces the hardness of water through ion exchange with resins.
A reverse osmosis water plant instead eliminates the salts melted in the water almost completely.
A final rinse with RO water assures a perfect washing with no scale left on the surface.

Depuration System

To reduce water consumption and environmental impact.

[to know more][hide details]

Washing plants need high quantity of water.
Raimondi s.r.l. has always designed its plants paying great attention to water consumption and they have created a wastewater recycling system so as to be able to reuse up to 80% of the water.
If there is no depuration system where the plant is installed, a chemical-physical biological depuration plant is suggested, the size of which depends on the client’s need.
In such a way high water saving is assured and the water flowing into the sewer is compliant with environmental regulations.
